The Event

Now in its 4TH year, The St. Michaels Running Festival is a premier athletic event for participants of all ages and athletic abilities. Located in the charming, historic town of St. Michaels, Maryland, our USATF certified Half Marathon, 10k and 5k wind along beautiful waterfront vistas and stunning country lanes. In addition to the running events, participants will enjoy live music, good food and 2 days of festivities. This is a great annual tradition where friends, families and running groups come together to celebrate personal achievement, good health and NO HILLS ON THE COURSES!

1k Kids Fun Run

We are proud to announce that the 1k Kids Fun Run will be back, and much more awesome than year 1! This is a great way for kids to be a part of the event and start learning about their own physical fitness. The run benefits the St. Michaels Community Center and SMYLE.

The 1k Kids Fun Run is open to children ages 12 and under. All children will receive a race shirt, race bib and finish line food/drink! Registration fees are $25.

If your child would like to participate but cannot afford the entry fee, financial assistance is available through the St. Michaels Community Center.

Online Registration

You can register online for the St. Michaels Running Festival 5K, 10K or half marathon by clicking below. All 3 races start at the St. Michaels School Campus. Please note that all participants should arrive at the school campus before 7:00 am on Saturday, May 16th. Please note that online registration ends at 11:59pm on May 10. On-site registration available at the pre-race expo on May 15 and until 7 a.m. on race day, May 16.You can register online for the St. Michaels Running Festival 5K, 10K or half marathon by clicking below. Group Registration

If you’re a company, organization, team, school or a bunch of friends you can take advantage of group pricing discounts. St. Michaels Running Festival offers discount group pricing if your party has 10 or more runners. Please contact info@runstm.com to inquire about our group discount pricing.

Transferring Your Registration

You can transfer your registration to another participant for a fee of $10 – the $10 fee is paid by the TRANSFEREE when accepting the transfer. Please note registrations can only be transferred within the same race category.

The first step is to find an individual that wants to accept the transfer of your registration. Once you’ve got the person lined up, you’ll need to:

It is the sole responsibility for the TRANSFEROR and TRANSFEREE to agree on any terms, payment and/or non-payment regarding the transfer of the registration. While there are several options available and online systems in place to process payment, the St. Michaels Running Festival does not endorse, recommend, suggest or advise on this issue. It is solely up to the TRANSFEROR and TRANSFEREE to reach and understanding regarding the transfer. Establishing a purchase price and the actual exchange of money should take place between the TRANSFEROR and TRANSFEREE directly, without the involvement of the event organizers or the registration provider. THE ORGANIZERS WILL NOT INTERVENE IN THESE MATTERS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Switching Race Category

Participants are able to switch their race category by accessing your registration and processing the category switch. Please note there is a fee of $10 for processing a category switch and you will have to pay the difference between your original registration and the prevailing price (this applies only to those switching to a longer distance). Please note that if you switch to a shorter distance, there are no refunds issued for the difference in price.

Deferring My Registration

We’re happy to announce that SMRF now has an official deferment option available! No need to worry if your plans change or you can’t make it to the race - you can now defer your registration for the St. Michaels Running Festival to the 2016 event. Please note you may only defer your registration to the following year’s event – 2016 in this case.

Once you complete the online deferment process, and officially defer your registration, you’re all set for the 2016 event. You will receive an email notification when registration opens for the 2016 St. Michaels Running Festival with special instructions about registering – you will then be able to register for the 2016 event.

A schedule of fees for deferring your 2015 SMRF registration is as follows:

  • 5K – $10 deferral charge

  • 10K - $15 deferral charge

  • Half Marathon - $20 deferral charge

Runner Goodies

All runners will be treated to the same awesome finish line food provided in SMRF's past 3 events - granola bars, sliced oranges, bananas, PBJs, water and sports drink!

Half Marathoners will receive:

  • A gender cut tech shirt

  • Awesome finisher’s medal

  • A beverage included in your registration – a beer option for participants over 21

  • Great after-party in downtown St. Michaels with live music, local food vendors and cool expo

  • SWAG and goodies provided by our sponsors.

5K and 10K participants will receive:

  • A cotton tee

  • Finisher’s pin

  • A beverage included in your registration – a beer option for participants over 21

  • An awesome after party in downtown St. Michaels with live music

  • SWAG and goodies provided by our sponsors

5K and 10K - upgrade to a tech shirt: 5K and 10K participants can upgrade from a cotton shirt to a tech shirt for an additional $15. This is an upgrade in lieu of the cotton shirt included in your registration.

Purchase an additional shirt: Additional tech shirts can be purchased for $25. You will receive the cotton t-shirt included in your registration plus an additional tech shirt.

Awards

Awards will be given for the top 3 male and female overall finishers for each race. Age group finishers in half marathon will receive a trophy. Age group finishers in the 10K and 5K will receive a customized award.

If you are unable to pick up your trophy or award on race day, we will mail it to you after the race. Please mail us your name, address, email, which race you ran and what place you took, and, a check in the amount of $15 for shipping and handling.
