The Event

Now in its 3rd year, The St. Michaels Running Festival is a premier athletic event for participants of all ages and athletic abilities.  Located in the charming, historic town of St. Michaels, Maryland, our USATF certified Half Marathon, 10k and 5k wind along beautiful waterfront vistas and stunning country lanes.  In addition to the running events, participants will enjoy live music, good food and 2 days of festivities.  This is a great annual tradition where friends, families and running groups come together to celebrate personal achievement, good health and NO HILLS ON THE COURSES!  

Inaugural 1k Kids Fun Run

We are proud to announce that there will be a 1k Kids Fun Run for the first time at this year’s St. Michaels Running Festival on May 17th! This is a great way for kids to be a part of the event and start learning about their own physical fitness. The run benefits the St. Michaels Community Center and SMYLE.

The 1k Kids Fun Run is open to children ages 12 and under. All children will receive a very cool finisher’s medal, race bib and finish line food/drink!

Registration fees are $20. If your child would like to participate but cannot afford the entry fee, financial assistance is available through the St. Michaels Community Center.

Online Registration

You can register online for the St. Michaels Running Festival 5K, 10K or half marathon by clicking below. All 3 races start at the St. Michaels School Campus. Please note that all participants should arrive at the school campus before 7:00 am on Saturday, May 17th. Please note that online registration ends at midnight on May 11. On-site registration available at the pre-race expo on May 16 and until 7 a.m. on race day, May 17.

Mail-In Registration

The St. Michaels Running Festival offers mail in registration for participants. Please print the below form, fill out all information including email, sign and date the form, and, mail it to:

Group Registration

If you’re a company, organization, team, school or a bunch of friends you can take advantage of group pricing discounts. St. Michaels Running Festival offers discount group pricing if your party has 10 or more runners. Please contact Peter Paris at or (443) 812-1346 to inquire about our group discount pricing.

Transferring Your Registration

You can transfer your registration to another participant for a fee of $15. Registrations can only be transferred within the same race category. Please login to your active account to process a registration transfer – follow this LINK. For assistance with transfers please contact the Consumer Support at (877) 228-4881 option 3. Please note the online transfer period ends at midnight on May 11.

Changing Race Category

Participants are able to transfer their race category by logging into their account and processing the transfer. There is a fee of $10 for processing a category change. Please login to your Active account to process a change of category -follow this LINK. For assistance with transfers please contact the Consumer Support at (877) 228-4881 option 3. Please note the online transfer period ends at midnight on May 11. On-site transfers will be available for a $10 fee.

Runner Goodies

All runners will be treated to the same awesome finish line food provided in 2013 - granola bars, sliced oranges, bananas, PBJs, water and sports drink!

Half Marathoners will receive:

  • A tech shirt

  • Awesome finisher’s medal

  • A beer included in your registration – for participants over 21

  • Great after-party in downtown St. Michaels with live music, local food vendors and cool expo

  • SWAG and goodies provided by our sponsors.

5K and 10K participants will receive:

  • A cotton tee

  • Finisher’s pin

  • A beer included in your registration – for participants over 21

  • An awesome after party in downtown St. Michaels with live music

  • SWAG and goodies provided by our sponsors

Upgrade to a tech shirt: 5K and 10K participants can upgrade from a cotton shirt to a tech shirt for an additional $15. This is an upgrade in lieu of the cotton shirt included in your registration.

Purchase an additional shirt: Additional tech shirts can be purchased for $25. You will receive the cotton t-shirt included in your registration plus an additional tech shirt.


Awards will be given for the top 3 male and female overall finishers for each race. Age group finishers in half marathon will receive a trophy. Age group finishers in the 10K and 5K will receive a customized award.

If you are unable to pick up your trophy or award on race day, we will mail it to you after the race. Please mail us your name, address, email, which race you ran and what place you took, and, a check in the amount of $15 for shipping and handling. Make checks payable to St. Michaels Running Festival and mail to PO Box 754 St. Michaels, MD 21663.

Policies to Note

  • All registrations are non-refundable

  • Registrations can be transferred for a fee of $15

  • You can change race category for a fee of $10

  • The use of iPods and other digital music players is discouraged

  • Any modifications to registrations must happen before April 30, 2014

  • Unfortunately, pets are NOT permitted on the courses

  • Strollers are permitted on the 5K only. There are no strollers permitted on the half marathon or 10K
